Putting gas safety firstWhy do we carry out gas servicing and maintenance?

This is a legal requirement which Berneslai Homes takes very seriously. An annual gas service is carried out every 12 months FREE OF CHARGE to ensure your home and gas appliances are safe to use.

What should I do?

Allow access at all times to Berneslai Homes staff to enable us to carry out the works.

What do i do if I smell gas?

Call Transco free on 0800111999.

Also ring the Repairs Hotline 01226 787878 and tell them you have contacted Transco. An engineer can then be allocated to repair the fault.

TRANSCO will only isolate and make safe.

What is gas servicing?

Gas Safe is the registered trademark of the industry which monitors and regulates Gas Safety. 

Gas Safe logoAll gas operatives employed by Berneslai Homes will carry cards with the Gas Safe logo.  Berneslai Homes employ Construction Services and Kier to undertake all their gas service and related repairs. 

You should always check the ID of the operative before allowing them into your home.  All persons employed by us carrying out gas related works will carry the Gas Safe card. If they do not produce their card which carries their name and the picture of the card holder, do not let them in.

Berneslai Homes staff also carry ID cards with the name and photo of the card holder.
