Berneslai Homes Construction Services offer local people a full range of construction training ranging from brick laying to joinery and also three mechanical and engineering disciplines. We are committed to the sustainable future of the industry in the Barnsley area and offer training and development opportunities in a wide range of skills.
In 2011 we have recruited 5 new apprentices to be trained as skilled operatives. After a rigorous selection process we offered apprenticeship training opportunities to 3 electricians and 2 gas plumbers who now have the chance to gain on site experience alongside a fully qualified mentor whilst receiving formal training at college. We are proud to say that since 2005 we have completed the training of over 50 apprentices, all achieving a level 3 Advanced Modern Apprenticeship, creating high quality craftsmen with excellent prospects for their future. Training as an apprentice can take up to 4 years dependant on trade and all apprentices receive JCC craft apprentice rates of pay.
Apprentice recruitment has now closed for 2011. If we require more new apprentices in 2012, these opportunities will be advertised in April or May on this website and in the local press to start work with us in late August / September.
