Berneslai Homes Construction Services provides a comprehensive service for all trades for the repairs and maintenance of two thirds of the Council housing stock.  The remaining third of the work is carried out by partners Kier Building Maintenance. 

Our work includes:

• general repairs (including roofing and pointing, fencing, paths, boundary walls, plastering, plumbing, electrical works, insulation, damp proofing and structural works), 
• planned maintenance (including bathrooms, external doors, guttering, kitchens and windows),
• gas and solid fuel servicing,
• void (vacant property) work,
• Barnsley Homes Standard programme projects,
• equipment and adaptations,
• other capital refurbishment schemes. 

We also carry out repairs and capital improvements to other customers such as schools, other public sector bodies and private dwellings. 

We cover a variety of trades including:

• plumbing,
• bricklaying,
• plastering,
• joinery,
• glazing,
• roofing,
• drainage,
• painting,
• electrical,
• insulation,
• gas and solid fuel heating.

We have a commitment to the ongoing training of people in the construction industry.  We offer full time apprenticeships and provide training placements for schools, colleges and adult placements.

Our accreditations include:

• Eco (Efficient and Cleaner Operations) Stars Fleet Recognition - 5 stars for our  commercial vehicles and fleet management,
• HETAS approved domestic heating installation and servicing,
• GAS Safe registered,
• NICEIC approved electrical installation,
• CHAS (Contractor Health and Safety) registered and
• Considerate Constructors for our project sites.
