Article: Equality and diversity

Equality and DiversityBerneslai Homes is committed to providing excellent services to all our customers, regardless of age, disability, race, colour, nationality or ethnic origin gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion or belief, economic or educational background, or any other reason that causes someone to be unfairly treated.

Equality Duty

New laws about equality brought in since October 2012 mean we have to meet certain obligations, including publishing certain information about our customers, our Board and our staff, and also about how we are meeting our obligations.

Follow the links below to information about how we are doing this, and to other useful documents elsewhere on these pages:

How our services affect you

We check whether our policies and the work we do have a different effect on different people.  In particular, we look at whether they affect people differently because they are older or younger, a man or a woman, disabled, lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) are from another country, speak a different language and have a certain faith.

This process is called Equality Analysis and we have summaries available about what we found, and what we did about it.   You can download the Equality Analysis information.

Taking part in Refugee Week 2011

We have been recognised nationally for our outstading work on equality and diversity, to find out more visit our Awards and Accolades page.
