Berneslai Homes Construction Service team has made the grade and gained certification under the CORGI Certification gas scheme.
CORGI registration is a legal requirement to be obtained by any business, company or anyone self employed carrying out any type of gas work in the UK or Northern Ireland. CORGI Certification can only be achieved by CORGI registered businesses and enhances the requirements of the statutory registration scheme operated by CORGI.
The scheme is a strict UKAS accredited management and monitoring standard that meets European (BS EN45011) requirements, and gaining the accolade signifies high overall standards in the management of safe gas work.
Steve Lowther, Services Manager at Berneslai Homes adds, We are delighted that we have gained the certificate, which provides an accessible way to give our customers and suppliers the assurance in our ability to deliver a quality service and reassure them that we have the highest quality management systems in place.
Richard Whitehead of CORGI Certification says: This is a significant achievement for Berneslai Homes as it is testament to their overall approach to gas safety. As well as the legal requirements of CORGI registration for the gas work itself, Berneslai Homes has put in place support systems and procedures which all contribute to safety and excellence within the gas industry.
CORGI Certification also goes one step further by assessing support functions such as whether it has: public liability insurance of at least £2 million; a warranty scheme for domestic gas work; a clear organisational structure; a dedicated complaints policy and procedure and procurement systems for appliance spare parts.

Notes to Editors:
CORGI Certifications gas scheme is complementary to most quality schemes already in use such as ISO 9000 and is based on the requirements of normal registration. It is a legal requirement for businesses, both employers and the self-employed carrying out gas work, to be registered with CORGI. There are currently approximately 47,000 registered installers employing approximately 98,000 gas fitting operatives across the UK.
