Residents of Airedale Road, Kexborough recently celebrated the completion of Decent Homes works by organising and holding a street party
The event was supported by Lovell and Berneslai Homes Construction Services and sub contractors Yorkshire Scaffolding, PH Jones, Hamilton’s Render Company.
Residents Mr and Mrs Shilleto have been heavily involved in organising the event and applied to Barnsley Council for a street closure. They add, “We are delighted that our homes have been modernised and it is great to see our neighbours out together enjoying this fantastic day. We would all like to thank the sponsors for contributing to the party.”
Decent Homes works to 45 homes on Airedale Road started in March this year and have recently been completed to bring each property up to the Governments Decent Homes standard. Each house was surveyed to find out the extent of works required which included new kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors, fires, boilers, rewiring and external rendering.
Lead contractor Lovells worked in partnership with Berneslai Homes Construction Services. The work was split equally between both parties with external rendering carried out by specialist Hamilton’s Rendering Company.
