Working In Partnership To Reduce Crime In Lundwood

WorkingInPartnershipwithCaptionLast week Berneslai Homes took part in an action week organised by the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), to help reduce crime in the Lundwood area.

On Tuesday, Berneslai Homes and the Police Community Support Officers, along with the Community Police Officer held a surgery at the local Partnership Office.  Lundwood residents were encouraged to come along with any issues regarding Crime, Anti Social Behaviour and Drugs in their area, and talk to the organisations about their issues.

On Wednesday a crime market was held at Burton Grange Community Centre and was attended by SNT, Berneslai Homes and Lundwood and Monk Bretton Partnership.  Leaflets were put out to schools in the area for the children to come along to have a chat with the different organisations to see how they work.  The youth support bus was on hand at the centre along with the Police Bus.   A walkabout was also organised by SNT and Berneslai Homes to look around the estate.

Mark McGee, Director of Housing Management at Berneslai Homes adds, "The action week demonstrates excellent partnership working between SNT, Berneslai Homes and community organisations in trying to tackle crime and disorder on our estates. "

If you would like to talk to an Impact Officer on any issues relating to crime on your estate, then please contact them on Tel: 01226 775555.
