Budding Young Artists in Cudworth
Young people from Birkwood Primary School have took part in a 'design a poster' competition. The poster was to depict their thoughts and ideas on what a TARA (Tenants and Residents Association) means to them. The competition was judged on 13th June and prizes given out at assembly on by School Governor Glenys White, the Chair and Secretary, Janet Robinson and Julie Berry of Darfield Road Cudworth TARA. The winning posters were designed by Katie Olah, Lucy Oakley, Richard Gibbens and Christopher Cattell and will be displayed around Cudworth and used in advertising material for the TARA.
A TARA is a group of people in the same area who have got together to form an organisation to look after local interests. Berneslai Homes Resident Involvement Officer, Gillian Totty adds, “ All TARA members are volunteers and act as a voice for people living in the area, raising any issues and concerns with the council and Berneslai Homes. They work closely with officers to try to get issues resolved. I would encourage people to attend their local TARA meeting and come forward to work with us for the benefit of the local community.”
Darfield Road Cudworth TARA welcomes new and enthusiastic members to help drive the TARA forward with new and bold initiatives and help deliver changes that will improve the lives of tenants and residents living in Cudworth. They hold regular meetings which are held at Darfield Road Community Centre.
