Life through the eyes of young people in New Lodge
Young people (aged 8 to 19 years) from New Lodge have developed their own art exhibition using digital photography to demonstrate through their eyes what is good and bad about the area in which they live.
The exhibition has been organised by Berneslai Homes, BMBC and Stronger Neighbourhoods Initiative for New Lodge and Athersley and will be held in the New Lodge Community Centre. The exhibition is open to the public on the following dates: Monday 14th July 11am till 2pm and 5pm till 6pm and Tuesday 15th and Friday 18th July 11am till 2pm. Admission is free of charge.
Berneslai Homes Resident Involvement Officer, Leon Sidebottom adds,” It is great that we are involving young people in reshaping our estates. Young people get a lot of bad press and this project is all about young people bringing something positive to their estates. We welcome you all to the exhibition to see for yourselves their excellent work.”
