Berneslai Homes have been working in partnership with the police on a project at Priory School and Sports College to help young people understand that consistent anti-social behaviour could result in their parents/guardians and themselves becoming homeless if they live in a Berneslai Homes property.
Our officers and the local PCSO have liaised with the school and have used school assemblies as an opportunity to engage with large numbers of young people and raise the awareness of this very serious issue. The aim of the project is not to shock or scare but to help educate the young people that offences of anti-social behaviour will no longer be overlooked. These examples will also be recorded and if deemed necessary in the future then used as evidence to support any necessary evictions.
Impact Officer, Chris Darby adds “We hope that these efforts have gone a long way toward establishing good working relationships between the school, PCSO’s and Berneslai Homes and will go further toward improving the community and environment for all.”
