Around 3,000 local residents flocked to Barnsley’s Locke Park on 4th May, Bank Holiday Monday, raising over £2000 for charity.
The fun packed day, organised by our partner Inspace, offered entertainment for all the family, including soft play areas for toddlers, bouncy castles for older children and rodeo bull rides for the more adventurous.
The entertainment started at 12 noon with a performance from the Crystal Lights Majorettes and local radio station Dearne FM broadcasting live from the park.
The highlight of the day was the fancy dress ‘It’s a Knock Out’ competition. Nine teams participated, made up of employees from Inspace, its subcontractors, Berneslai Homes and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. The winner of the tournament was Inspace subcontractor Yorkshire Gas Insulation.
David Coldwell, General Manager at Inspace said “This was Inspace’s first fun day at Barnsley and was hugely enjoyable for all concerned. We’re delighted to have raised over £2000 and would like to thank our subcontractors and everyone who so generously donated raffle prizes. We’re proud to be backing Barnsley all the way!”
All money raised will go to Barnsley Mayors Charity, the NSPCC.
