Have your say on Social Housing - get involved with the National Conversation

Berneslai Homes and Barnsley Federation of Tenants and Residents will be holding a workshop around the Tenant Services Authority National Conversation.

The Tenants Services Authority, (TSA), are the new independent regulator for social housing and have a responsibility for promoting and championing tenant’s interests. One of their first tasks is to develop a set of standards that will measure the performance of landlords and ensure they are delivering a quality service.

In order to inform and develop the standards the TSA are launching an initiative called the National Conversation. The aim of the initiative is to capture the views of tenants and prospective tenants.

Berneslai Homes have organised a series of events called Local Conversations, which will ensure its customers get their voices heard and influence how the standards are set.

Getting involved is easy; tenants can contact their local Impact Teams for a questionnaire or can attend one of the local conversations listed below.

18 February  – drop in event
Dodworth Gate Crescent Community Centre from 10am - 12pm.
Gilyrod Wharncliffe Community Centre from 1– 3pm.

23 February
BBIC Cudworth – please contact Linda Blackburn on 01226 781172 to book a place.

26 February
BBIC Cudworth – Tenants and Residents Association members only.

3 March – drop in event
Darton Alder Close Community Centre from 10am - 12pm
Royston Manor Court Community Centre from 1– 3pm

Federation Advisor Claire Hawley adds,” The process will be very informal and it is really important that our tenants have their say in what standards are set.  By joining a local conversation tenants will be influencing how social landlords are run across the UK.”.

If you would like to complete a questionnaire, then please contact your local Impact Team by phoning 01226 775555.  Alternatively you can download a copy by visiting www.tenantservicesauthority.org
