Police have recovered about £4,000 worth of suspected cannabis from a home on Neville Avenue, Kendray.
The Kendray and Worsbrough Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), working alongside Berneslai Homes, raided the home on Monday 29 March 2010. Officers recovered about 12 plants plus an amount of suspected dried cannabis.
A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and bailed until the end of May pending forensic examination of the suspected drugs.
PC Rob Jones, of the SNT, said: “This is an excellent example of partnership work between South Yorkshire Police and Berneslai Homes. Working together, and with the information given by members of the public, we can help eradicate drug activity in our area.”
Darren Asquith, Impact Team Group Manager adds," Berneslai Homes will not tolerate drug cultivation in our properties and through partnership working with South Yorkshire Police we will use all powers at our disposal. In addition to criminal action, tenants will also face losing their homes."
