- Age Concern - a voluntary organisation working for elderly people, providing information and advice. Age Concern are also running a campaign as over a third of older people are missing out on benefits to which they are entitled. Up to £4.2bn is left unclaimed each year. Age Concern are running a campaign to raise awareness of this issue and local Age Concern offices can provide free advice to older people, including home visits to assess benefit entitlement. - Alcoholics Anonymous - a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
- Alzheimers Society - Gives hope and support to hundreds of thousands of people affected by dementia.

- Carers UK - improves carers lives and fights for equality for carers. They want carers to have the same right as everyone else to an ordinary life, a fair level of income, adequate support to protect their health and well being and access to the world of work, leisure and education.

- Dementia Voice - are working together to improve the services for People with Dementia.
- Help The Aged - an international charity fighting to free disadvantaged older people from poverty, isolation and neglect.
- Joseph Rowntree Foundation - one of the largest social policy research and development charities in the UK, spending about £7 million a year on a research and development programme that seeks to better understand the causes of social difficulties and explore ways of overcoming them.
- Mind - National Association for Mental Health is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales and work to create a better life for everyone with experience of mental distress.

- NSPCC - the purpose of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children is to end the cruelty to children. The NSPCC protects children from cruelty, support vulnerable families, campaign for changes to the law and raise awareness about abuse.
- Pathways- Barnsley Domestic Violence Group - a Barnsley Charity providing support, guidance and counselling to both men and women suffering domestic abuse. Telephone Hotline: 01226 249800.
- The Princess Royal Trust for Carers - This is the largest provider of comprehensive carers support services in the UK. Through its unique network of 122 independently managed Carers' Centres and interactive websites, the Trust currently provides quality information, advice and support services to almost a quarter of a million carers, including 13,000 young carers.
- Relate - Offers advice, relationship counseling, sex therapy, workshops, mediation, consultations and support face-to-face, by phone and through the website.

- Sanctuary Scheme - An iniative which will allow and empower people experiencing domestic abuse to continue living at home in safety, rather than move house to escape harassment.
- Victim Support - Independent charity which helps people cope with the effects of crime, providing free advice and confidential support and information.
- Womens Aid - National charity working to end domestic violence against women and children.
