Planned Replacements
We replace items such as windows, doors, kitchen and bathroom fittings and gutters when they have been assessed by a qualified operative or inspector as being beyond further repair.
Who is the service for?
All Barnsley Council tenants.
What if I have a problem with an item in my home?
If you have a problem with any of the items detailed above, we will always attempt a repair in the first instance. If the qualified operative or inspector assesses it as being beyond further repair they will recommend that it is replaced.
What will happen next?
Details of your item will be placed on a planned replacement list. We list replacement items together and carry the work out on a planned basis to make more efficient use of our resources. We will send you a receipt to tell you that the item is on a list of planned replacements.
How long will it take?
We aim to order work on the planned replacement list on a regular basis, but this is subject to funding being available. When the order has been placed, we will send you a letter to tell you who will do the work. Our maintenance partner will then contact you to make arrangements to carry the work out.
Replacement items are normally completed within three months from the date that the order was placed.
How do I report a repair?
You can report a repair in one of these ways.

• By using our on-line repairs reporting system (but only for non-emergency repairs).
• In person at your local Barnsley Connects office.
• In writing to your local Barnsley Connects office.
• Through Digital TV service.
