Repairs to Communal Heating
Some of our properties receive heating and hot water from a communal boiler. Residents can adjust the heating in their home by turning the radiators up or down.
Berneslai Homes make a weekly charge for this service which is paid alongside the rent.
The heating charge is not covered by housing benefit, which means that if you qualify for help with your rent you will still have to pay the full heating charge.

What if there is a problem with my heating or hot water?
If you have communal heating and it is not working you need to report it to the Repairs Hotline as you would any other repair. The phone number of the Repairs Hotline is 01226 787878.

How do I pay for the service?
You pay your heating charge in the same way that you pay your rent.

The Repairs Hotline is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Barnsley Connects Offices are open Monday to Friday 9.00am until 5.00pm.

- Your name.
- Your address.
- Your phone number.
- The exact problem, for example, leak on lounge radiator.
- When you will be at home for us to do the repair.
