Services Provided By Us
Berneslai Homes are responsible for providing the following services on behalf of Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council:
Repairs & Maintainance
Repairs and maintainance of your home including an emergency out of hours service, annual servicing of certain applicances and planned improvements to your home.
Registering Your Request To Move
Includes the inputing of new applications, requests for transfers, mutual exchanges and HOMES nominations together with ensuring the lettings policy is applied correctly. The Homeseeker Scheme is also managed by this team.
Finding A Suitable Home
We will consult the Housing Register before making you an offer of accommodation in the areas of your choice.
Provide A Clean And Nuisance Free Environment In Which To Live
This service is delivered via a group of officers within an Impact Team. These Impact Officers can be found on the estate on a daily basis up to 8pm resolving neigbour nuisances, showing prospective tenants around our empty homes, visiting tenants and ensuring the environment in which you live is clean and tidy.
Rents
Berneslai Homes offer a service of rent payment methods for council tenants. We are also responsible for managing rent and providing home contents insurance schemes.
