Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership

The Barnsley Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) has now published the second Children and Young People's Plan called "Putting the focus on families"  which sets out the vision and ambitions for children, young people and families in Barnsley. The Plan, which was developed with all the Children's Trust partners, demonstrates how the Trust will work together to ensure that children and young people receive the support they need to help them reach their full potential.  It takes account of the national policy framework and includes the views and priorities of our children, young people, families and carers.

 Barnsley Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) is made up of a range of services and stakeholders and is accountable for:

• leading and co-ordinating the strategic development of a fully comprehensive and integrated Children and Young People's Service.
• ensuring that the participation, voice and influence of children, young people and their families are embedded in the work of the CYPSP, including strategy, planning, policy development, service delivery and review.
• ensuring that all relevant partners participate willingly and fully in the strategic development of Children and Young People's Services.
• undertaking a needs analysis and developing and publishing the Children and Young People's Plan.
• making recommendations for the allocation of funding and the commissioning of services to the Commissioning and Performance Group.
• strategic workforce development.

Meeting the needs of all children and young people requires the long-term commitment of everyone. The Children and Young People's Plan is an expression of Barnsley's commitment to achieve strong partnerships and collaboration at all levels.

The plan is in four parts. The first part sets out our vision, values and belief and our promise to all children, young people and their families, including children and young people in care.  The second part describes the local area and context against which the Plan has been developed.  Part three outlines the progress made aginst the objectives set out in the first Children and Young People's Plan, published three years ago, and sets out ambitious headline priorities for 2009-2012.  Finally, information is provided in part four about how the effective leadership from all of the partners will be required to drive through integrated delivery of services.
