The Digital TV Swithover

You will be aware that TV is going digital and the existing analogue TV signal will be switched off and replaced with a new, stronger digital TV signal.

When is the switchover date in Barnsley?
The Emley Moor transmitter which serves Barnsley area will switch on 7th September 2011.

What is Berneslai Homes responsible for?
Berneslai Homes is responsible for homes served by communal aerials.  We have 1873 properties served by communal aerials and all have been converted to receive the digital signal.

What do I need to do if I am not on a Berneslai Homes communal aerial?
To keep your TV service, you will need to convert your TV to digital before the switchover date.  You don’t have to buy a new TV; almost all sets can be converted with a digital box.There is no description for this image

You can choose how you switch to digital

Prices vary depending on which service you choose.  There are two ways of going digital:

  • A one-off payment with services such as Freeview or Freesat.
  • A monthly subscription with services such as Sky TV, Virgin Media or BT Vision.
