It is our mission to deliver excellent customer services and continue to listen to our customers, partners, staff and board so we can constantly develop the service we provide to you. Since launching in 2002 we have received several awards and accolades in recognition for this and here’s a list so far.
We have received a bronze award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
The scheme encourages employers to pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
In April 2020 we were awarded Gold for the third time by Investors in People (IIP) and also achieved the Health and Wellbeing Award, for our high quality approach to looking after our staff.
The national standard recognises companies who measure up to high standards of people management and demonstrates how people are led, managed and developed and the impact this has on operational results and how they keep improving and staying ahead of their competitors.
The assessment revealed a number of key strengths which strongly confirm that we are an employer of choice and a key strategic partner to our shareholder, Barnsley Council. We are built on a strong foundation of people management practices and are passionate about what we do and display a strong work ethic which complements the company’s values, and policies which results in a trusting leadership style and culture.
In June 2020 we we’re highlighted as one of IIP’s top 20 Gold employers in the category of companies employing over 250 staff and we have also been shortlisted as a top 10 employer for the ‘Health and Wellbeing Award’. The winners for each category will be announced by Investors in People in November 2020.
We have been recognised in the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For in the Public and Third Sector 2015, for the fourth year running and have been listed as 78th.
We are also a one star company and have achieved this recognition for the range of benefits and flexible working opportunities that we offer to staff.
We have successfully been re-accredited as a Disability Confident employer for a further 2 years. The scheme recognises our commitment to employing, supporting and promoting disabled people in the workplace and is awarded by the Department for Work and Pensions.
We have Level 2 accreditation for:
- our excellent recruitment and selection process that is inclusive of disabled applicants, guaranteeing interviews to disabled applicants who meet essential criteria;
- our commitment to support employees to remain in employment, using our Supporting Disabled People in the Workplace policy and reasonable adjustments.
