Berneslai Homes is committed to providing customers with an efficient and high quality service. We expect not only our employees but also our contractors to adhere to the practices and guidelines set out in our Code of conduct for contractors.

The Code of conduct is intended to guide contractors on the standard expected by Berneslai Homes and inform customers of our commitment to providing a high quality and professional service. At all times we will treat our customers, colleagues and partners with courtesy and respect. Berneslai Homes believes everyone has the right to fair and equal treatment.

We are committed to ensuring that all people are treated fairly and without unlawful discrimination.

Our e-tendering system

YORtender is used to advertise procurement opportunities available from Berneslai Homes. In general, this will be used for all opportunities valued above £10,000 except where we choose to buy from a consortium and existing framework.

Registered contractors and suppliers will be able to download key documents for opportunities that they wish to pursue, and return these electronically. This includes pre-qualification questionnaires, tender and quotation documents. Berneslai Homes aims to make the system the main way in which we advertises opportunities to potential suppliers. E-mail alerts will provide information on forthcoming opportunities and live projects can be viewed via the ‘Latest News’ section on our homepage.

Suppliers and Contractors can select potential categories of work that may be of interest to them.

Suppliers and Contractors must select within their company profile a CPV code (Common Procurement Vocabulary). These codes will determine the email alerts you receive based on the projects published on the system. Suppliers can select multiple CPV codes.

Please note: CPV codes have been developed by the European Union specifically for public procurement. Their main purpose is to help procurement personnel to classify their contract notices consistently and correctly and to help suppliers find the notices which are of interest to them by using a standardised vocabulary. The codes comprise a top level subject and then you can drill down into detail to more specific categories.  For example the top level subject could be 7900000 but you can drill down to 79000200.
