A big thank you to everyone who helped with or attended our exhibition on 100 Years of Council Housing in Barnsley last week.
We had a brilliant event with 300 people coming through the door to celebrate one of the towns greatest assets. We received a whopping 100% positive feedback from the event and some really positive comments:
“Great exhibition, I enjoyed the photos stories and the enthusiasm of staff!”
“I loved listening to the residents talking about their experiences of living in Council Housing.”
“Great to see how things have changed in Barnsley.”
“I really enjoyed the illustrative material from the early years.”
“It was nice listening to the stories of people whose lives were changed by Council Housing.”
“The film was 1st Class.”
“I enjoyed looking at the old history of Barnsley slum areas, just off new street where my great ancestors lived.”
“The exhibition was most enjoyable and very informative.”
If you have a few minutes then please watch our video which is available below and features the voice of Barnsley poet Ian Mcmillan.
