This week it’s Dementia Action Week (17 -23 May). Research shows there are more than 850,000 people in the UK who have dementia.
One in 14 people over the age of 65 have dementia, and the condition affects 1 in 6 people over 80. The number of people with dementia is increasing because people are living longer. It is estimated that by 2025, the number of people with dementia in the UK will be more than 1 million.
Did you know that dementia is not a natural part of ageing and is not just about memory loss? You can find out more about Dementia by visiting the Alzheimers Society website.
