Tenant Voice Panel Update

The Tenant Voice Panel

It’s the run up to Easter and March has been a ,“cracking”, month for the Panel. They have an amazing thirst for knowledge and have met twice this month with Anthony Brown, Interim Director of Assets, Regeneration and Construction, to find out about the review of the Asset Management Strategy, ensuring that the tenants voice is reflected in any changes.  Keep an eye on the website for their feedback.

Not content with meeting one Director, they have also met with Lee Winterbottom, Managing Director of Construction Services, to delve deeper into the new Repairs Offer, and it’s fair to say that they were blown away be the improvements that are being developed. One of the issues they have taken a keen interest in is the Net Zero Carbon agenda and have volunteered to be an active partner going forward, which is great news.

September may feel like a long way off, but its that time of year again when we start to plan our Annual Report and we want to ensure that the Tenant Voice Panel play an active role in its development right from the start. We had a great session and are really excited by the joint plans we have in place.

Here’s a selection of what else the panel have been involved with this month;

  • Sheffield City Region, meeting tenants and providers from across the county to discuss best practice
  • PRIP Core, ensuring the tenants voice is heard regarding the repair’s partnership
  • ALMO Liaison, keeping abreast of issues relating to BMBC and sharing the outcomes from the Panel.

The Scrutiny Panel have been hard at work and are just finalising a joint report regarding our website. Its been great working in partnership with the Panel and together we have come up with some ideas for improvement. Alongside this, members are also testing compliance of our complaints process against the Housing Ombudsman’s Complaints Handling Code, more on this next month!.
