It’s #WorldMentalHealthDay on 10th October which we are pleased to support to raise awareness of mental health issues.
So far, our Mental Health Support officers have supported 350 tenants, helping improve their health & wellbeing. They provide flexible, responsive housing related support to tenants who have low level mental health needs, which are affecting their ability to maintain a successful tenancy. This includes those who are vulnerable who may be drawn into extremism and extremist ideology to turn their life around and even support others as a way of giving back for the support they have received.
Here’s a few comments from customers……….
“I just wanted to say thank you for everything you’ve done & sorted for me. I wouldn’t be debt free, where I am & who I am today without your help. I know I wasn’t the easiest or best person to deal with but thank you for putting up with me.” Mr D from Hoyland.
“I’ve now moved into a new home and my Mental Health Support Officer has continued to support me to set up my new tenancy and make sure that I can continue to manage independently. I feel much happier and safer in a new home environment.” Mr T of Athersley.
“I’m glad a mental health support officer came at the right time and so thankful she gave me a second chance. If I’d not received the help I don’t know where I’d be now. At that time things couldn’t be any lower, so thank you!” Miss W, Thurnscoe.
