Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the following exemptions listed below:
PDFs
There are a number of PDFs on the site which have readability issues. New interactive functionality is being developed as part of our new website which will be available by April 2021. In most cases there is page content which matches that contained in the PDFs and where this is not the case we provide advice about how users can get this information and advice in alternative ways. The cost of fixing this limited issue is a disproportionate burden.
Interactive tools and transactions
Our forms are built and hosted through third party software and ‘skinned’ to look like our website.
However we are aware that our e-form site www.forms. berneslaihomes.co.uk has several known and complex to resolve accessibility issues.
We’ve assessed the cost of fixing the issues with our e-form site. We believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We are replacing this site by April 2021 with a fully compliant e-form system.
The site has a separate accessibility statement which advises how users can access services using alternative formats.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
The procurement pages of our website are not aimed at the general public, but at business suppliers and as such fall outside the scope of the accessibility regulations.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
Whilst our website is mostly compliant with the accessibility regulations we are planning to replace it by April 2021, we are planning to replace our e-form system by April 2021.
We are also setting up a regular user testing programme commencing in October 2020.
