Getting Tenancy Ready Project

Working with Barnsley Council and Future Directions, we're making sure that young care leavers are given the skills to be successful and to sustain a tenancy when renting a property.

To tackle the barriers of young people being unprepared to live independently, we piloted various interactive sessions that were a success.

In the sessions, young care leavers learned more about electrical components in a home, essential servicing, daily household tasks, and much more.

Thanks to the project, young care leavers will gain confidence, develop new skills, and be able to live independently.

We’ve created case studies where young care leavers talked about their own experiences of the pilot sessions and what they loved about them.
