Improving the energy-efficiency of tenants’ homes
We’re improving the energy-efficiency of 14 homes on Gilbert Grove in Kendray.
In partnership with Sustainable Building Services, since December 2025 we’ve been completing loft insulation and ventilation works, followed by external wall insulation this year.
The aim is to bring these homes up to EPC C, boosting their energy efficiency and helping tenants to save money on their utility bills.
Mark, a resident at Gilbert Grove, said: “The team have been great while they’ve been doing the work - really polite about where they park their vans and helpful if we’ve got any questions.”
Ken Taylor, Chair of our Board, said: “Walking along Gilbert Grove and talking with our customers reinforced how vital it is to listen to their views and concerns in order for us to achieve excellent results when improving homes.
“It was great to hear them say how they felt their needs had been taken notice of throughout the improvements to their homes. In turn, that they were already feeling the heating benefits of having the external wall insulation.
“It was also great to hear the appreciation from our more elderly and vulnerable customers around the care that had been taken by the Berneslai Homes team throughout the work.”
