As we continue to experience high temperatures, it’s important that we take care of ourselves during hot weather.

Remember these tips to help you stay safe:

  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water and avoid excessive amounts of caffeine or alcohol.

  • Keep your home cool: Close curtains during the day and open windows at night.

  • Dress to stay cool: Wear lightweight, loose clothing and pop on a hat.

  • Use sunscreen: Apply it regularly throughout the day and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.

  • Check on others: Keep an eye on those who may be at extra risk from the heat, such as older relatives or young children, taking care to watch out for signs of heatstroke.

  • Avoid direct sunlight: Try to avoid this if possible, especially between 11am and 3pm when UV levels are highest.
