Have your say on challenging social housing stigma and building pride
Berneslai Homes is proud to be one of the many organisations supporting the national Stop Social Housing Stigma campaign. a tenant-led campaign that celebrates the value of social housing and its residents, breaking down stereotypes and challenging the stigma that surrounds it.
From now until the end of November, we’re inviting Berneslai Homes tenants and leaseholders to share your experiences of living in social housing to help shape our activity in this area.
Here in Barnsley, we want to hear your thoughts on things like social housing stigma, the language we use when talking about homes and services, and what makes your home and community special so that we can effectively challenge social housing stigma and build pride in our communities together.
The short survey only takes a few minutes to complete and forms part of our commitment to listening to tenants and residents and making sure your lived experiences, ideas, and views are at the heart of engagement. We’ve already been working with the different groups that are part of our tenant involvement framework, and we want to hear from as many people as possible.
Everyone who completes the survey will also have the opportunity to win £100 in shopping vouchers and you can also let us know if you’d like to be involved in any future campaign activities.
Click here to complete the survey (opens in a new window). The survey is open to current Berneslai Homes tenants and leaseholders and will close at 5pm on Monday 30 November 2026.
Your feedback will be used as part of the Berneslai Homes tenant and resident engagement programme 2027-28. Your responses will be combined with others and analysed to understand what matters most to people. You can complete the survey anonymously if you wish, and you don’t have to answer all questions. Any personal information you provide will be handled in line with data protection regulations.
If you’d like to enter the prize draw to win £100 shopping vouchers or would like to be involved in our work to celebrate social housing, you can let us know at the end of the survey and provide contact details. The prize draw is open to current Berneslai Homes tenants or leaseholders.
