Become a Community Champion
Do you love where you live and want to help make your neighbourhood even better?
Join our Community Champions network and play a vital role in shaping stronger, safer, and more vibrant communities across Barnsley.
As a Community Champion, you'll be our eyes and ears in your local area, sharing what matters most to you and your neighbours. Whether it's highlighting local issues, suggesting improvements, celebrating community successes, or letting us know about concerns on your estate, your voice can make a real difference.
What’s involved?
Share your views from the comfort of your own home – there’s no need to attend meetings.
Provide feedback by phone or a quick survey emailed to you every two months.
Help shape services and neighbourhood improvements.
Receive updates on local activities, projects, and events.
We'll get in touch every couple of months to get your feedback, but you can still contact us anytime if there's something you'd like us to know about. We'll keep you updated on how your feedback is helping to make a difference and you’ll receive a £5 Love2shop voucher for every survey you complete.
The network is perfect for tenants who can't attend Your Community Your Say meetings or who simply want a quick and easy way to have their say more regularly.
If you're passionate about your community and want to help create positive change, we'd love to hear from you.
Complete our online form, email communityengagement@berneslaihomes.co.uk or call us on 01226 787878 to find out more.
