Protecting your home contents
Are your belongings protected?
While we're responsible for carrying out repairs to your home, you are responsible for insuring your personal belongings under the terms of your tenancy agreement.
Although home contents insurance isn’t compulsory, it can help protect the things that matter most to you. A policy can provide cover against risks such as fire, theft, water damage and other unexpected events, giving you peace of mind.
We work with Thistle Tenant Risks to raise awareness of the My Home Contents Insurance Scheme, which has been designed specifically for people living in social housing.
What can be covered?
The policy can cover a wide range of household items, including:
furniture
carpets
curtains
clothing
bedding
electrical items
pictures and ornaments

Important information
Terms, conditions, limits and exclusions apply. It’s always a good idea to shop around and compare policies to make sure you choose the level of cover that best meets your needs.
